I wasn't going to post this, because of a comment on my previous entry, but I've decided to anyway.

We've had a productive weekend. I got rid of my nine Robert Jordan books in the local sendon hand bookshop, and finally started my library acessories project - I now have one row of glass-framed pictures hung in the library, and three more rown planned and frames bought for them. The pictures are book covers scanned in and with a white border around them. I like it. So now I have practical - more space - and aesthetic improvements. Yay. No, really, it looks good.

Menu-planning continues to save us time and money. The house continues to get nicer to live in, due at least partially to the irritatingly twee and effective FLYlady system. We have more spare time and we're eating better. The three of us sit down to a meal together once or twice a day, which is nice.

Rob and I spent some time quietly sitting in cafes reading this weekend, while Linnea slept. It was refreshing; I'd forgotten how nice he is to just spend time with.

And on Friday night we went to a neighbour's house and played a game called, I think, Puerto Rico. It was fun, though I'd prefer to have been less tired and less under-a-baby for it. I got better after taking codeine partway through though. I also used the opportunity to introduce my friend to Pukka Tea's "Chocolate Spice" tea, which is great.

Because Linnea washed my laptop in tea, I cleared my desk and that corner of the spare room, so I'm using a desktop again. This will probably - hopefully - limit the time I spend geeking. There's more to life than a VDU.

I found a handbag in WH Smiths which I want to buy for a friend in Barcelona, but I've lost his postal address. Damn.

Yay for the pictures up on the library wall! You're inspiring me to get on with it and do similar.

the irritatingly twee and effective FLYlady system

That's the best description I've heard of it yet.

It's your journal. That means you may post as you please, when you please, and either block those who post insensitive comments, ignore them, respond with dignity or smile at your friends as they chase after them with polearms. Your call.

I've been where you are wrt trauma after a birth, and with say "what they say" to everyone who supported your looking into counseling: someone listening and saying "No, that's a perfectly normal reaction" is a great blessing.
