A Productive Day
Oct. 28th, 2003 01:40 pmAlthough I felt dreadful when I first woke up - or possibly because I felt dreadful - I have been very houseworkery. I cleaned the bathroom, and most of the kitchen, including washing all the pots and pans. I did two loads of laundry. I ate breakfast and am eating a hard-boiled egg for my lunch right now.
The bathroom looks noticeably better, and the kitchen will when I have dried and put away all the pots and finished cleaning it. The only major thing left is the floor - the bathroom, rear hallway and kitchen all have a lino-covered floor, which I will have to wash, boo hiss. However, it should be easier this week than last week. I'd love a floor-washing bucket with a mop-squeezer.
When I get sick of housework, and have eaten an adequate lunch (I await further instructions from my stomach, as to what would be a good idea), I will head into town to buy nuts, sweets and fruit for trick-or-treaters on Friday evening. I'm not going to bother with a pumpkin; we'll light the death's head candle in the library window and leave it there. I shall have to work out my scoring system - no costume, no goodies, obviously, but after that it gets complicated. Shop-bought costume, fruit or nuts or sweets, home-made costume with obvious adult help, two of the above, home-made costume made by self, all three? Something like that. Luckily Woolworths has a cheap pic'n'mix.

Date: 2003-10-28 02:08 pm (UTC)My approach is:
if a kid knocks on the door give them a kit kat fun size and get rid of them of quick as possible ;)
Also, leave off lights at the front of the house and they might think you're not in and not bother knocking.
