Today's brightening moment, link via Radegund: Yes, you are.

In other news, an old friend is unexpectedly visiting Reading and we had dinner with him yesterday evening, followed by going to my favourite pub in Reading (where they play music that hasn't been in the charts for quite a while, and one room is always empty; the beer isn't great, but that's ok, because I don't drink much. Also, the staff leave you alone and the toilets are always clean). We're going to go see Pirates with him on Thursday, too. Yay!

Much conversing of cats was done, including each of us demonstrating our favourite aspects of cat body language. Mrrrp.

I am seriously considering an exciting new filter for people who read this over on Livejournal. I'll consider it some more.

It's a nice link, the one thing that bugs me about it is that it's (apparently) absolutely completely and utterly aimed at women. It doesn't matter if you're a man too, if you believe in etc equality of the sexes you're a feminist too. And it would have been so easy to alter the examples a little to include that.

I tend to stick with the word "humanist" for myself. I certainly think that the word "feminist" should be rescued (much like "queer") from the grips of antisexual social feminists like Shere Hite and Andrea Dworkin, but it's got too much baggage for me to fight the good fight alone.

I could (and may) write the same rant about the word "environmentalist."

This has been a drive-by commenting by a fellow callahanian.
