Well, another lot of flea-treatment has been done, and I brought the duvet to the laundrette, who washed it, and I found out about their bridal dress services, and I read High Fidelity, which surprised me, and Room at the Top, and started Here comes Thursday!. I bought a foot file to deal with the callouses on my heels and started sorting out crash space for the myriad afpers who are coming to this meet. I made four necklaces, none of which are particularly dreadful, even if ordering beads online meant that the colours aren't quite what I expected. I listened to the radio. I ate some of the bread I baked yesterday in ourr new breadmaker - it didn't rise properly, so it was a bit heavy, and it's a bit dull (I think I need to put something in it; plain wholemeal is bland as all get out, so the wholegrain we buy from the shop is nicer) but it was ok. It was either the lack of a vitamin C tablet or the old yeast.
I was woken at 06:30 by a new, itchy fleabite. 3 cats + summer = itch. For some reason, they hardly nibble on Rob, and they leap on me with fangs akimbo whenever they think I'm not looking or can't reach.
Bah.
Yet to do...
- Wash up
- Clear kitchen
- Clear dining table
- Clear spare bedroom so that it can be my office again
- Persuade Rob to go to Wickes and buy the wood for the TV cabinet he promised me - I wanted a shelf, which I could have done myself, but he said he'd do a TV cabinet. Meanwhile the clutter is driving me crazy and I can't do anything about it (in the library. The library is all stacked up now and only more shelving will help).
- Bake white bread for Rob.
- Study some. At least, work out what I should feel guilty for failing to study.

Date: 2003-08-13 01:24 am (UTC)Monday night was "take a tablet" night for the cats in our household... himself still has the scratches to prove it (it took 4 attempts to get Brenin to take his - he is very good at holding out and then spitting the pill out... he is also very strong and has sharp claws. I won't let himself use the "towel" trick though as brenin is a cat who likes to be towel-dried when wet, and I don't want to give him a phobia about towels. Tish, on the other hand, hardly puts up a struggle over pills).
Last night was "frontline" night... this is my job - Brenin takes this one in his stride and doesn't hardly fuss at all while it's done - this is where Tish comes into her own and becomes the whirling dervish of claws and teeth.
Never mind - that's all over for another month now, and at the weekend I get to do housework (including a complete spray of carpets and cat favourite hidey holes). We don't have many little visitors yet, and those we do have seem to prefer cat to person... and I intend to try and keep it that way or better! (My goal is zero visitors.)
