Enviable things

• When people don't have to work for an employer to finance food and housing
• When people have enough holiday to spend time with just their partners and not other friends or family as well
• When people have never personally experience depression in any of its clinical forms
• When people have never had a relationship that they regretted
• When people have never felt self-loathing
• When people have the knack of making people like them without having to fake a persona
• When people reach the stage of not caring whether people like them and just stop faking the persona
• When people are happy
• When people have freedoms one has voluntarily given up

Hmm. Not sure why I thought of those. Some of them are things I have that other people don't, and some of them are things I don't have that other people do. I don't think it matters which is which, as long as no-one takes any of them for granted.

Have you ever envied people who never have to wake at night to tend to a screaming baby, for example? Even though you chose to engage in activities which could result in pregnancy, and then chose to have the baby?
