Planning and doing
Jul. 31st, 2003 03:25 pmEllie came over for lunch; ex-company continues to beep faintly but seems to be rolling towards disaster just the same. She's exhausted. But it was a pleasant lunch.
I spent the morning washing up, making scones, making potato salad, tidying the dining room, doing laundry, and sorting out packing.
I have potato salad, tuna salad, chopped onions, and a bunch of other food ready for CCDE. I also have clean clothes (more clothes than I've ever brought before - two pairs of shorts and a dress, as well as the jeans I'll wear while travelling - but they will all fit inside the same bag as my folding chair). We have a folding chair each, a tent, an inflatable mattress, a coolbag for food, and a gazebo. The only thing unaccounted for is the sleeping bag. I'll have to wait for Rob to come home before I pack that; my arms aren't strong enough to squash it properly. This all goes in a rucksack, a coolbag, a small picnic backback, and a big blue Ikea bag (nothing else will hold the gazebo). So we have a backpack, a chair bag, and another piece of luggage each. We should manage that, I think.
My stomach has recovered at last, I think, but I have an outbreak of small spots now. It's not pimples and it's not hives and it's not even really a rash. It's just tiny spots, all over my shoulders and collarbone.
