Domesticity and etiquette
Jul. 29th, 2003 12:12 pmTwo loads of laundry into the machine, two loads of laundry hung up, waiting for machine to finish. Also did much washing up of dishes, and cleared the table and other minor things.
I then sat at the semi-clear table (which is as good as it gets) and sorted through the thank-you cards. I have addressed lots of them, and written some of them, and enclosed a photo in some of those, and put stamps on all the ones with addresses. Stamps taste nasty, and when I bought the stamps yesterday the nice lady wouldn't give me self-adhesive ones. *spits glue*. Luckily airmail stickers are self-adhesive.
We're still missing some addresses, and my hand aches slightly from holding the pen, but we're definitely getting there. Nobody go holding your breath for a thank you card, yeah? Particularly, Rob's friends and relations; I have to wait for him to be available to sign them in all cases and help me write them in some cases. He means to, but it's hard to get around to it while he's awake enough to give useful input.
With luck, they'll all be finished by tomorrow lunchtime, and all I'll have to do is get some more tiny prints of a photo to enclose with some of them, and post them. That part's easy.
