DIY and GSETDI
Jul. 26th, 2003 05:10 pmRob and I sat down to design a TV cabinet strong enough to take a TV as heavy as he is, and simple enough for him to build (I can't do nuffink anymore because of my stoopid hands) and large enough to accommodate the TV, DVD player, amp, VCR, Digibox, radio tuner and the CD player we will get when someone leaves the country. The major advantage, as far as I'm concerned, is that we will then have some shelf space where the amp is now and on top of the cabinet (horizontal surfaces are floors, tables, shelves or ceilings; it depends on how much stuff you can put on them) and we can fill it with some of the books etc that are piling up all over the place.
I really need to work out how to get more shelves or work surfaces in the kitchen. I'm not sure it's possible, of course, but I'd like somewhere better for the kettle to go, and somewhere better for the water filter, and somewhere better for our (wonderful, life-altering) new food processor, and the food processor's box of blades of whirring death. Thr trouble is that there's really no space in the kitchen; it's all full up.
Perhaps I can revolutionise the space under the sink, but I've never lived anywhere that had a nice space under the sink. It's always damp and yucky.
I can't wait until Kathy moves to Edinburg, I can go and visit her and she can show me all the cool places.
(Oh, I skipped a tutorial this morning - 5 hours' sleep and anyway I hadn't managed to do any of the relevant reading, having only barely finished my other assignment by the time the tutorial was due. I'll do some reading on Monday and offer to organise the next study group. I sincerely hope I do better this time round; my last three assignments have been the produce of braindead monkeys on valium.)
