Apparently the reason for the trouble is that they were stupid enough to use dogs in their search for weapons. A big insult to the locals. I really do think they should research more before they act when in someone else's country which has a differing culture!
"Here, let me search your house using the dirtiest thing I can find! Yeah! And we'll have women search your places of worship with boots on! while smoking cigars! Naked!"
The thing is, I almost expect this level of insensitivity from the Americans, but I'm dismayed to see just how far the cross-cultural contamination has gone with the British tropps :-(
Well, the average Brit-in-the-street isn't internationally reknowned for his/her sensitivity to the customs of Johnny foreigner; it was bound to infiltrate the army eventually.
