Too darn hot
Jun. 22nd, 2003 11:00 pmThunderstorm first thing, so walking to dancing lesson was quite nice and cool. The lesson went well, and then Rob and I had breakfast in Woolworths cafe again. Then we came home, and Rob went for a nap while I finished my book - Prodigal Summer. It has a nice ending, but not the one I expected. It was much more a book about the female characters than about the male characters, which was interesting, since every female character had a sort of accessory male.
Rob hung the first of the two doors today, and it's lovely. It's nice to be able to shut away the mess under the stairs. The second cupboard is much less offensive to the eye, so it's not as disruptive.
I made more scones - we're getting quite keen on them - and we ate them and stewed prunes with custard for dinner. I have to learn to make real custard, as the Birds Eye powder stuff absolutely refuses to thicken properly for me. It is always always always a disaster.
The scones are coming along quite well, though.
