Both children had their feet measured, and yes, their feet's too big.
First we all had a pleasant morning with our impromptu houseguest and then we had a complicated breakfast wherein Emer was very, very two, and then I had a shower and got dressed (project "thinking about clothes" continues apace, and I am finding it very interesting) and the guest and I went out and looked in Jackson's of Jackson's Corner, Reading. I escaped with only a couple of crochet hooks (which I went in for) and a couple of balls of yarn (which I hadn't). Then we had lunch and parted.
I stopped at John Lewis to get some Eric Carle birthday stuff for Emer's party (THREE years old in ONE week! Aiee!) and looked in bewilderment at the cake-icing equipment. The most plausible tools were outside my budget so I think I'm stuck with bags as usual. Then I popped into Eclectic Games to wait for Rob and the children to decide what they were dong. They decided on swimming, and I walked to Rivermead to meet them; we had just time to get in, have one go of waves, and be thrown out for closing time.
Then we went to EG again and from there to John Lewis, where they had some things on sale. It wasn't too difficult to find things to fit Linnea, but we had to measure Emer in her sleep, so although we were able to ascertain that yes indeed her feet are bigger than her shoes, we couldn't try new ones to see... so we've brought some home to try, and we can return them if they don't fit.
Shoes bought 25 May or earlier: Linnea and Emer.
Shoes bought six weeks later, on 5 July: Linnea.
Shoes bought five weeks later, today: Linnea and Emer.
This is ridiculous. Why are they growing?! I wasn't warned about this!
