Today, the wedding planner

Has been mostly making minor adjustments to the house, with a view to having somewhere for some people to stay.

So I left a message for the plumber and started panelling the dining-room wall, with a view to making the cupboard under the stairs a thing of beuaty and a joy forever. As a result, I now feel very relaxed and pleased with myself.

The to-do list has been utterly neglected, and therefore now reads:

1. Wash dishes.
2. Finish DIY so that it is physically possible to tidy the dining room.
3. Finish tidying main bedroom.
4. Finish tidying spare bedroom.
5. Assemble all the random crap in the house into crates for later sorting.
6. Put away all the clean laundry.
7. Wash the dirty laundry.
8. Bring winter duvet to laundrette for spring clean; put away as spare bedding.
9. Call florist.
10. Buy another king-sized duvet cover.
11. Buy some more cladding and battens.
