The taxi driver showed up around 9 to deliver my handbag, and wouldn't take even the fare for the delivery journey. He walked away as I was trying to fish out my purse to give him something. He was adorable. My hero.

My older sister came round to collect something from Mum. We had an amiable conversation, whcih is quite an achievement for us. It's not that we dislike each other, it's just that we really rub one another up the wrong way. Persistently. It seems unavoidable at times. It's nice when it doesn't happen, though.

Then we all - Me, Mum and Rob; Niamh wasn't very well - went into town and shopped. Mum and I looked at dress fabric, and decided on a silk taffeta and silk lining, then looked at bras and found a very helpful lady in Brown Thomas who wasn't in the least patronising or condescending. I was her third bride in ten minutes, apparently, and one of the very few brides who buy the underwear before fitting the dress.

Rob bought a laptop rucksack.

We all went home pretty late and I met Niamh's new boyfriend, Gareth. We were all feeling quite tired and a bit dreary, so we figured that maybe we should just stay in and do nothing. So I ordered Chinese takeaway (a different substance entirely from Chinese food) and we all ate some, except Rob. Then Niamh and I decided that we had the energy to go out after all and coerced Gareth into coming along.

We went to Fibbers, which has changed considerably and not at all. Gareth was very pleasant and we sat quietly for a while and left around midnight. We got a taxi home.
