Baby Seraphina's Wheelchair

Baby Seri got her wheelchair, last year, and thrived in it - she grew! So now she needs another one. The family have raised £1250 and need a further £1750. According to Seraphina's blog (written by her mother), money sent via Paypal to Seraphina@claniverson.co.uk will reach them. My paypal account hit their moneylaundering limit last year so I can't accept donations again yet.

Presumably they are going to give the old one to another family who need it?

Unfortunately, these are specialist wheelchairs, customised to such an extent that there isn't a second-hand option. That's why they have to buy them new. I know the company takes the first one away but I don't know what happens to them after that.

Oh that's a shame! Hopefully they recycle what bits they can.

I *imagine* that the basic frame and the oxygen bottle stands would be re-usable. The body supports and head supports and chest pads and stuff are probably all binned though :(

Seri's first one is probably as ancient as these things get, though, because she wasn't eligible for a grant for her specialist cot so she had to sleep in it as well as sit in it during the day, so that she could keep breathing.
