It's a wonderful life

I have refound a friend. She and I have hardly spoken for 6 years, and last night I called her to see how she was getting on because she has just had a baby, and we talked for over an hour. Wow. I am so, so happy about this. I missed her. I know all the reasons we didn't talk for years, and there's very little I could reasonably have changed, given my mental and emotional state for much of that time, but I am really, really happy to have her back.

I'll get to see her when I visit my mum next week, too.
