The original day from hell. In the morning I did two Annual Reviews for people who used to be my peers and are now my staff. Both went really well, and I'm told that I did them really well. Apparently most Team Leaders don't do any prep work for these things and just go in and wing it.

In the afternoon I - well, we - well, everything that could possibly have gone wrong went wrong. I am leaving for Sweden tomorrow - leaving my house shortly after 4 am - and I had to instruct some of my staff to work on Saturday morning (argh! argh! eep!) and besides that alert upper management to a disadvantageous political situation between us and the customer(they hate us) and fight fire after fire after fire... I also had a row with one of my favourite customers who is under a lot of pressure and took it out on me by implying that I sit on my bum all day and ignore his sites.

Groo.

In the end I had time to leave work before the shops closed, buy my warm underwear for going to Sweden, go home, pack for myself and Rob (I'd already sorted all my clothes out, so my packing was easy), eat takeaway, and get nearly 4 hours' sleep. Wish I'd had lunch.

Aw, sweetie. *hugs*

I work in a job where I'm in a prime position for people to take out their frustration on me. I'm pretty good at defusing it these days but every now and then I get blindsided. Well done on letting Upper Management know of the awful politics though, that should make things a lot better. Go you! Enjoy Sweden.
