We slept well, on James' spare sofabed, though I woke earlier than I would have liked. James delivered tea (how well-trained is that?!) and then Rob fried breakfast. Had a great conversation about noncooking with James. I encountered some culture-shock items (item: arranging grocery shopping so that one purchases only frozen foods which take the same amount of time, at the same temperature, as oven chips) but overall it seemed very sensible. I know I'd eat more if I did it that way - at least, I think I would. If I'd bother to cook at all. Meal-creation is more interesting to me than meal-consumption, even if I just watch the creation rather than participating in it.

The journey back was also by bus. Then I crawled into bed and crawled out again for dinner and crawled in again.

Before we left Coventry James showed us the way to Waterstones. I found a Margaret Atwood to stop me whinging and then we went looking for a bus. The Margaret Atwood is finished now, and it's fabulous in every way.
