An unhealthy atmosphere

So this is about work again. I'm beginning to think that the place we're working in is just plain unhealthy. Since early October, at least half the team has had, at any given time, a headcold, a cough, or a stomach bug. We have had at least one person off sick every day since 19 December 2002. I think that's strange and worrying.

Is there an organization like OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) that you can talk to? This sounds very much like Sick Building Syndrome. The sooner it gets fixed the better for everybody, and not just your team.

I have raised the issue with my company's HR dept; we are contractors working in the customer's building, which makes things awkward.

Yes, it does. However that doesn't mean they get to make their contractors sick, and it gives you another avenue -- YOUR HR department.

Hang in there, I'm sure this will be resolved.

I don't think it's that unusual this year - our office appears to have people with colds, coughs, assorted sniffs, etc all the time at the moment.

Sniffles, yes - but at least half the employees having headcolds bad enough that I have kept Lemsip on my desk for general use since October? That's 3 and a half months. Is that normal?

If it is, there's something wrong with the world...
