More meetings
Dec. 5th, 2002 09:00 pmThis morning's meeting was in my own office, at 11 am. I booked a room, asked the boss what info he needed, prepared half a dozen spreadsheets, printed out a copy each for everyone at the meeting, asked a colleague to produce one small piece of info, printed out six copies of that without checking it (doh!) and got the ever-helpful Ellie to help me lay them out in the booked conference room. This was all done a full fifteen minutes before anyone arrived. Yay.
We unexpectedly had another representative from the company in the meeting with us, and equally unexpectedly, neither my boss nor his boss were there. Even my colleague couldn't come, as he was too busy. So there was me, a sort of boss-once-removed of mine, and the people from our suppliers - a couple of directors and some upper management. Hm. My boss-once-removed wasn't enormously helpful, as he had trouble reading the spreadsheets and kept thinking that the last cell of line 56 went with the first cell of line 55, or vice versa. So we read reference numbers from cell 55A and he read comments from cell 56J and it all got a bit embarrassing, as no-one else was having similar problems.
And the room was small and hot and stuffy.
So the meeting ended after a couple of hours and I returned to the main office, to find that everyone was swamped with busyness and I didn't have time for lunch again. By 18:30 I was exhausted and came home and sat. And sat. And sat. I read Livejournal, I was fed food, and I was in bed by 21:30.
