I have reduced my To Do list on LJ to one item, and the joint To Do list is 7 items long, but none of them are urgent really.

[livejournal.com profile] mikz is wondering, in flattering terms, who I am. I'm wondering how he guessed my name was spelled.

I need to go through my various To Do lists at some point and synchronise them. This evneing I have to iron some clothes for tomorrow's meeting, and wash up, and cook. I might also have time to geek a little but I doubt it - I have to make up for the lack of sleep caused by going to London yesterday evening.

I was late to work again, largely because I bloody hate getting up in the morning in the dark and the rain and the yuk. Work sucked, too - we were at half-staff levels and we were only that high because a brand-new person started, who had to be trained (Ha! I didn't manage that very well; didn't have time). I fought fires all day, and occasionally reached such high levels of motivation that I read my friends page and alt.poly and afp.

After work I headed in to London, hoping to meet Rose but without having any contact info for her. If she didn't contact me I was going to meet up with Rob and his cousin.

Rose and Mik contacted and met me and fed me pizza. We wandered out and Rose bought postcards and then we got a tube to Liz's; we ate icecream on the tube and talked about de facto marriage. At Liz's (I could list everyone whose dwelling it is but I'm not sure I really know all the names) Rose made chocolate egg creams, which were odd - I think I'd really like vanilla ones on the rare occasions I want to drink fizz. It certainly aroused some kind of sweet milk craving in me because I had to get a milkshake on the way home.

The TV was on in the house, which was odd - I haven't seen a TV on for TV for a very long time; we did turn ours on experimentally after we got the digibox but we haven't actually switched it on since, unless videotaping Copenhagen counts. We keep intending to look up the listings and choose things we want to watch, but we never remember. (It'd be documentaries, mostly, and occasional political programmes and perhaps the odd drama that we've heard of - unlikely to be a series of any kind).

The two younger kids were in bed, which was a shame - not for them, I'm sure it was good for them, but I selfishly hoped to see them.

Mik and I ended up talking about politics - because I said that I didn't feel inclined to visit the US because the current political stuff there scares me, I think - and then I went home to bed.

It was late when I got home. But I think it was worth it. I didn't get to talk to Rose much - we were walking, and then on a loud train, and then in a busy living room - but I don't think that matters; we were in the same space, and we can share thoughts and ideas anytime online.

I definitely do better in dyadic conversations than in any larger groups, unless I know everyone quite well.
