ailbhe: (working)

I'm home sick, hurrah hurrah. I did make it to work this morning, but was in a foul mood and kept snapping at people. Also, I couldn't speak properly, and I kept making mistakes. So I eventually (10:30 am) went to the new boss and responded to his cheery "How are we then, all ok?!" with "Well, no, actually, I have to go home," or something.

I did get a little done on the most important thing - at least, the thing I've been dreaming about. And some resolution on a couple of other things.

But I was far far snappier than I should have been, even if people were being sort of generally offensive. (Comments on "all short people", a "joke" about Jews, that kind of ordinary, apparently acceptable stuff).

That sort of crap is considered "acceptable"? I suppose "I beg your pardon!" might be more effective in response to such "jokes", but snappiness is well within the reasonable responses. In my opinion as a short ethnic Jewish New Yorker.
