... I need some. Specifically, I am looking for a piece (poetry or
prose) about the beginning of a marriage. I would _really_ like
something which the author would allow me to translate into Irish.

I can't write it myself. Every time I try it comes out oddly. I think
the detachment I need to write succinctly isn't there.

So, a whole bunch of people here have read a whole bunch of stuff...

Translate into Irish? Well, what would be acceptable source languages? English, French, german, Esperanto? I might have something, but then again, I might not, depending on the language requirements and whether I can find it again...

[livejournal.com profile] aegidian and I edited together some passages from the Song of Songs ("Awake, my love, my dear one, and come away!"). I'm sure there must be some very poetic Irish translations out there somewhere. There are no religious references in the book (unless one adopts an extremely allegorical interpretation).

Maybe we could come up with a collabarative writing effort here, if you give us more of an idea of the sentiments and style you're after?
