Mark and Kayla and the kids came today, for an afternoon and dinner visit. We cooked a roast chicken dinner, and it mostly worked - things were a little overdone due to miscommunication on the part of the chef (me) and her assistant (Rob).
The kids played with the kittens, and later in the evening Darrell and Becky came to see Mark and Kayla and played a little Thud. It was a lovely day; we gave Kayla some of our unwanted glassware for her painting because we wanted to get rid of it and she can always use the extra for her stall at the Ealing market.
After the IFU [1] had gone home, Darrell and Becky and I discussed jobs - specifically, my trouble finding one, and the difficulty of dealing with hundreds of silent rejections. It turned into a minor crisis, because until I began to speak about it I didn't quite realise how stressed I was. But talking helped, and they agreed to come over Monday to help me go through the job papers and on Friday Becky will take me to an agency I haven't registered with yet. She knows them.
