The super monster swelling spot from hell

When I woke up yesterday, I had a small hard sore spot just below my lip, like a soon-to-surface zit. By evening, that corner of my lip was noticeably swollen. By bedtime, it throbbed, and looked like someone had hit me in the mouth.

At 6:30 this morning the pain woke me up. The swelling was huge; I checked with Rob, who agreed that I wasn't imagining or exaggerating. It was at least twice the size my lip is supposed to be, and throbbed relentlessly.

I couldn't lie still, so I got up and went on IRC, and took a couple of Nurofen Plus (ibuprofen and codeine). That was difficult, because I couldn't get a glass of water to my mouth properly and they're not coated in anything slippy.

By about ten, the swelling had gone down noticeably and there was a small red going to be a spot patch under my lip. Also, the pain had gone.

By teatime, the whole thing had blown over, and I'm now pretty convinced it's just a really big, evil spot. But I'm tired and wired from lack of sleep.
