Today I went shopping and bought a handheld blender and an electric carving knife.

So my cabbage and turnip soup is good, now. I'm going to add things to it later, of course - lightly fried onions, black pepper, a sweet potato, maybe some broccoli if any of it hasn't rotted away in the vegetable rack.
