Blood tests show Vitamin D deficiency, non-trivial. With any luck this explains the joint and muscle pain, dizziness, migraines, vision wobbles, etc. I've also become suspicious that the air pressure dropping makes all my pains worse. Nowt I can do about that but avoid overdoing it.

We had visitors for half-term. Minecraft is still a Thing. The children are now allowed to go to the library, playground, supermarket, corner shop, and local McDonalds. The older two have their own bank accounts and I got a letter explaining I no longer have access to them. There's a heavily supervised personal email address we launched this week.

Spring is here so I've started thinking about growing things. The potatoes are ready for chitting. I've ordered some wildflower turf to help the garden recover from the building work. 36 plugs of pansies for the hanging basket were out of stock so I had to order 72 (?!). None of our fences came down in the storms.

We're trying to get control of our lives with a repeating menu plan and shopping list, two weeks each cycle. Hopefully we will gradually increase it but with intersecting food preferences to consider 14 meals isn't a bad list.

Children's social lives continue to be the most complicated thing in my life.

I hope you can get your VitD sorted. I had the same problem recently with potassium but a supplement has made a big difference.

How can you not have access/supervision for bank accounts for minors? That sounds all kinds of wrong.

Glad to hear from you that all is (relatively) well. Hope the Vit D can get sorted easily. I envy your spring, we still have 2 ft of snow, and the only gardeing is the indoor lemon tree flowering and the sweet potatoes in jars of water to sprout...

Goodness, quite a few people I know have vitamin D deficiencies at the moment. I'm glad you've found out about it.

That is surprising. I know children need to learn about money but that seems very young to trust them with anything but small amounts.

Pressure dropping totally makes things hurt. It's not just you.

Well, in my case in the 80s, my parents continued to know where the bank books lived and I knew I'd have been in trouble if the money had disappeared without them having a clue when and why. But I loved the fact that I was responsible for it, and I also remember my dad asking if he could borrow some if it to buy some stocks and shares for something and my ten-year-old self quizzing him very carefully about how safe they were and whether I was going to lose my money like the characters in a Victorian TV drama we'd just watched!

I can't imagine how awful that must have been, a real betrayal! You have convinced me that it is a very workable concept.

Ooh bank accounts. Exciting! I had a NatWest one with the china piggies when I was small. I think I got an ATM card (at 14, which I think was the limit then) before my dad did because he was very mistrustful of this hole in the wall nonsense and preferred to do his banking over the counter, with a chequebook.

Hope Vit D tablets or whatever help.

I do so hope that the VitD supplements help you as much as they did me.
