I've whinged about buying crutches so much, recently, that Rob took some of our Christmas money and bought me a pair! We've adjusted them to fit and I've worked out how to use them when I can't lean on my wrists. Hurrah!

It seems an odd thing to hurrah about, mind.

That reminds me of something a friend says about her wheelchair. The standard line is "oh no, a wheelchair, how terrible", but her approach is more "yay, I can get about now!" If crutches help your mobility sometimes, then hurrah!

Hurrahing about that makes perfect sense! Hurrah! Mobility! Less pain!

What the wise people above me said! Yay for mobility! Can/should you put stickers on them? If so, I will send you stickers to decorate your crutches!

Doesn't seem odd to me. Hooray for improved walking!

I don't think I knew that your joints were still quite that bad, though.

My daughter's crutches are customised with bright stickers and stripes of duct tape!

Ailbhe I can total identify with the excitement crutches - daughter with CFS was delighted when she realised how much better they are than her walking stick, and the assistant in Ableworld said 'people like you really make my day, knowing I've helped someone'. :-)

So hurrah!

It was only when I came out of hospital on crutches that I realised how much of an improvement to mobility they are. My stick got seriously sidelined. I can so understand your daughter's reaction.

Not an odd thing at all. Ease of mobility is, perhaps, something we too often take for granted. I know I did.

Oh - I thought the SPD was only a thing that happened while you had pregnancy hormones. Didn't realise it was all the time! Wow, you poor thing :/

Not having a proper diagnosis is truly annoying.
