We went from Thursday to Tuesday. It was lovely. We had a very quiet, low-key con, but the children had a good time and enjoyed meeting up with the other children, and I introduced Emer to Terry Pratchett. I didn't introduce Astrid, because she doesn't like strangers, but all three girls had their photos taken with him.

It was lovely, but very sad. He put absolutely heroic effort into fan contact. I wish I'd taken the opportunity to speak to him properly 14 years ago, when he was well, but I couldn't speak to famous people at the time. Ho hum.

The memory I'll always have of Terry at DWCon is the time he came and sat down on one end of a sofa - the group of us were occupying the other end of the sofa, and a couple of chairs opposite - with a sandwich in his hand, and said, "I'm going to sit here and eat my lunch just like a normal person," and you said, "Ok, we'll ignore you then, just like a normal person," and we did. And it worked for approximately 90 seconds, or two bites of his sandwich, before some other fan came up to him to get their picture taken...

Glad you had a good time.

I'm very selfishly hoping that there will be one more Tiffany Aching book...

Maybe at the time you were relieved that we wouldn't be expected to chat with him *grin* Or maybe my memory is faulty and it was Jen that said it, not you... I do remember it being you, though...

It was lovely to see you. Especially at the Hedgehog Party. I do not know where you get all that energy for dancing from.
