Getting tidier with the help of UFYH on Tumblr (warning: rude words).

Having a BRILLIANT migraine, it could have won migraining competitions, it was awesome, especially in its sense of timing, which was EXACTLY when we needed to be...

Camping with friends we met at NHS antenatal classes before Linnea was born. The children had a fabulous time, I REALLY MISSED seeing my friends, but there you go, I'm a bit rubbish sometimes.

I also got award-winning insect bites which were bad enough to take to an actual DOCTOR omg.

And I've been learning to make bread again, after a long hiatus. Plain white is easy, because everyone eats it while it's still hot and it tastes great that way; everything else is more complicated.

Rob had a week off work AT HOME and we went cycling and had a riverside picnic and played games and were generally familial. We need to put a bit more effort into being casually familial, because we tend to slide into chaos when we stop focussing on what we're doing, and it wastes time.

The blackberries are ripe and we picked them and made clafoutis.

Astrid turned TWO and is GENIUS in EVERY WAY.

Emer will be SIX in a minute.

Linnea is EIGHT and is possibly the BEST big sister anyone ANYWHERE has EVER had EVER in the history of EVER, when she's not driving them nuts.

I went to the GP who referred me to the sexual health clinic who referred me to the gynaecologist, so soon! soon! my PMS might be slightly under control and with it the migraines, pain, short temper, and with any luck at all the depression, which would be COMPLETELY BRILLIANT.

I mention this slightly because I heard on Twitter that going to a sexual health clinic is a suspicious pervert type of an act (something to do with the CPS?) and I'd like to note that I cycled there in the sunshine with my toddler on the back of my bike and we didn't see ANY perverts AT ALL but the NHS staff were lovely and friendly and everyone smiled at the toddler especially when she said she wanted "a dink a wata peez inna GUP" because she'd seen the water cooler and I hadn't. She sat on the chair in the waiting room in a very grown-up way and only got a bit difficult when the nurse came, because nurses in general are coming for HER and they have TONGUE DEPRESSORS and THERMOMETERS and PULSE OXIMETERS but it was ok, the nurse was coming for me, and Astrid was unassaulted.

Unlike my caps lock.

My local Sexual Health Clinic is a wonderful light and airy place, the staff are wonderful too. If folks think that places that enable us to take responsibility for our own reproductive health are suspicious perverty type places more fool them. I, OTOH, will just continue to be a responsible sexually active adult.

Extra Hormones

Good luck! It will be amazing when you get it sorted, it is the most amazing feeling. I'm not quite there, but nearly so. I currently have the mirena, a progesterone only "mini" pill (you can get larger doses of progesterone but these have more side efects), and I'm on 10 mg of an SSRI (cipramil), prescribed for PMS moodiness but actually helping with Sensory Processing Disorder.

My main issue was caution to prescribe whilst breastfeeding.... breastfeeding, there is something called zolodex which is given to breast cancer patients as this suppresses ovulation or reduces oestrogen or both. But because it effects hormones, it would effect prolactin so cant be prescribed during breast feeding. Do email Wendy Jones at BfN, we've had a lengthy email conversation lasting a couple of years.

Pain killer wise things like mefanamic acid are fine and can reduce bleeding if taken regularly. I couldn't as am asthmatic but can take occasionally. its good to take them for longer periods to build up a baseline. This is ok with paracetmol and ibuprofen during breastfeeding too - again with same precautions to asthma if you have that, cant remember. I also tried buscopen for IBS for the pain of periods - its a smooth relaxant and can help some. Didn't me, but I know a local mum it did.

Good luck, hope you get somewhere. Oh, and can we come see you soon please? Not this week, all have a tummy bug but next week would be wonderful.

A TODDLER on your BIKE? You DEVIANT! You should have driven there like a normal person!

(Btw, I saw your tweet yesterday about Astrid figuring out how to take a mug downstairs, and melted completely.)

This is the first year I've been to Spain and not come back with award-winning bites. By dint of max piriton from a week before going, insect repellant spray over sunscreen, insect repellant spray over insect repellant aftersun, the ammonia stick of stinginess, bite relief cream and BLOODY WONDERFUL BITE & STING RELIEF PLASTERS from Boots. Srsly, they are wonderful.
