Left the house instead of doing housework. Went to the community garden with a picnic. Stayed for about six hours, maybe longer; no-one got bored, other people drifted in and out, the children played and ate, we did weeding and thinned the peas and did some yoga and talked art with another allotmenteer, and after we lost Astrid and found her again we started on a major undergrowth (overgrowth!) thinning exercise by the pond. She was actually nowhere near the pond but we couldn't tell, so we want that space easier to check for swift-running toddlers.

I am SO SO GLAD. We had a lovely day and a very pleasant evening and a friendly dinner, and now it's going to rain for five days.

My big skill acquisition for 2012 is to be taking time out.

I do think it was a good idea, just STOPPING and living in the moment rather than firefighting the future was so good for us.
