I feel horrific. Astrid's eyes are making her miserable and her cough is dreadful. I'm losing vital proteins at a rate of pigstuckery. The house is a pit of squalor and the universe hates me.

Emptied and refilled dishwasher
Emptied and cleaned bin drawer
Put out recycling
Refilled bin / housework drawer tidily
Washed a few dishes by hand
Emptied Roomba, cleaned brushes, sorted toys out from debris
Flushed blocked loo with bucket of old bathwater
Picked spilled box of pens & markers up
Fed baby to sleep

It sounds like you are being really productive for someone in your state of exhaustion, especially whilst looking after a sick Astrid.

I have asked the bit of the universe immediately near me, and it says it doesn't hate you. So hopefully it's a localised problem that can be remedied by a holiday in some other location. And you seem to have one handy.

Any ta-da list which involves child-wrangling impresses me. How anyone who has children to look after has the courage to get out of bed day after day boggles me.

Sometimes we get out of bed because of the children :) And not just because they are yelling for us!

Oh yes, I do understand that. I find it a little incomprehensible, but I've been assured by many reliable friends that it's true ;)

(I should note, I don't dislike children! Just the idea of being responsible for one all the time fills me with gibbering terror. I like borrowing friends' children, but I also very much like giving them back.)
