I can't decide, myself, whether this stuff is hideously twee and cutesey and annoying, or very useful and interesting. So it's going behind a cut.

Hallo Hallo Announcement Time

I may never use it, but I think it's an interesting template, and I MIGHT. You never know.

It took me a while to understand (but then it's after 9pm, so it takes me a while to understand anything), but I think it's a nice idea. It might give you some brain space, if nothing else, and that's hard to come by in my life and I only have one child and nowhere near your commitment to, well, almost anything.

What does it mean by "I'll play with"? I keep reading it in the context of a personal ad, and uh.

It is super cutesy. But yeah, as [livejournal.com profile] snorkel_maiden says, any practice that gives you mind space is good. I used to use tarot for exactly the same purpose.

Personally, I find a lot of her stuff simultaneously both cutesy & very useful, fwiw. In my head I dial down the cutesy & dial up the useful. I've definitely found something along the VPA line to be very useful in clarifying what I actually want for/about [a thing] & also making me think harder about how it might be able to happen.

Agreed. She has toned down the Christianity somewhat in the past couple of years, and that helps.

Yeah, ditto. I also found that when I first stumbled upon the Fluent Self a year or so ago, my very strong aversion to it told me a lot in itself - fundamentally I have a lot (a lot) of issues about self-care and being kind to oneself and things in that line. Once I'd dug through all of that I was able to find the stuff that was really useful - and not all of it is useful to me (I couldn't care less about biggification, for example), but Havi's post about procrastination and why people avoid doing the things they love most, for example, really resonated.

I really need to work out how to do more of the stuff I really want to do. I'm finding it very hard.
