Aug. 29th, 2012 01:04 pmWe went from Thursday to Tuesday. It was lovely. We had a very quiet, low-key con, but the children had a good time and enjoyed meeting up with the other children, and I introduced Emer to Terry Pratchett. I didn't introduce Astrid, because she doesn't like strangers, but all three girls had their photos taken with him.
It was lovely, but very sad. He put absolutely heroic effort into fan contact. I wish I'd taken the opportunity to speak to him properly 14 years ago, when he was well, but I couldn't speak to famous people at the time. Ho hum.
