Woke up, got out of bed
Mar. 24th, 2012 07:55 pmPlayed with Lego
Met Lucy and went to a book sale; spent only five pounds exactly.
Brought a spare child home with me.
Emptied and refilled the dishwasher.
Hung laundry.
Helped Rob make lunch.
We ate lunch in the garden - the five of us and the spare child and Lucy.
Cleared up lunch.
Took down dry laundry.
Sorted through old pots of compost and soil.
Assembled new mini-greenhouse.
Filled seed trays and stuff.
Moved cold frame.
Planted leeks, cauliflower, chives, basil, sunflowers, parsley, radishes, and courgettes.
Ate dinner outside.
Tidied things like mad.
Swept patio.
Helped Rob move the Christmas tree.
Moved a planting bag full of bulbs - montbretia?
Looked at the evening sky and saw Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and a nearly new Moon. Also Orion, which is one of the few I recognise without a reference work.
I guess the sun is shining. Which is lovely, but worrying. We're catching the water from the dripping tap, for watering plants, and using cooking water and leftover drinking water to water plants too. The hosepipe ban means we're not allowed a paddling pool this summer, which is kind of sad, though in other years we re-used bathwater for the paddling pool, which would be ok I think. We need to get better at water use in general. I really wish we could use greywater flushing easily.
Must contact a plumber about the tap and the toilet.
