There will be photos soon. Meanwhile, here's what we've been doing:

In the morning, Emer comes into my bed and lies beside Astrid while I drink my orange juice, which Rob leaves for me before he goes to work, because Rob is awesome. This morning, Linnea came too, and read to them from an Oxford Reading Tree book (level two) while I went downstairs for a few minutes. Then I came back up and read to all three of them while I drank my two flasks of coffee, also left by Rob before he goes to work.

Then we get up, and I take the porridge out of the microwave. We leave the oats and a covered jug of water ready measured on the counter overnight, and Linnea mixes them and puts them in the microwave to cook in the morning, before I see her at all.

Then we eat and get dressed, ish, more or less. Today everyone got dressed after their fashion; Emer wore a vest, pants and dungarees. Linnea wore two in-use-clothing items from the huge pile I assembled yesterday in an attempt to reduce the laundry mountain by making sure clothes are at least worn until they are grubby before being laundered. I wore dungarees I bought while pregnant with Linnea, and a long-sleeved tshirt, and joy of joys I wore my new bra, which very nearly fits (the band fits; the cups are one size too small but that's bearable, since the right size is a specialist item and would cost more than twice as much).

I pottered around doing laundry, hanging things up, clearing the table, and sorting out the kitchen a bit, while the children played - that is, read more of the new books. When Astrid went to sleep I first had a cup of tea (sleep might last 30 seconds or less; tea is ALWAYS first), and then read The Rag Coat to the older two again.

We talked about stuff people do. We talked about how coal is formed and what it's for (Emer had no idea; she'll see some in a few weeks when we go to see Nana though), and why people wear black when someone dies, and how even though it was cool that the child in the story could cut up her dad's coat without even asking permission first, she would probably have preferred if he wasn't dead, in spite of being able to just use the scissors and cut up a coat. I'm not convinced Emer agreed. Also, I have a feeling I may be going to be asked to make coal soon. We made charcoal, after all.

We messed about with patchwork patterns too. And then we went out.

We were going to take the recycling to the playground and then meet a friend from school and go to the community garden, but a different neighbour popped in so we brought her to the community garden and met the school friend at the same time, and we played there from before three until after half past five. We saw primroses - in fact, there are photos at the ORCG blog, for a change.

Then we came home and kind of cooked a dinner ish.

And I've just realised that this is VERY home eddy and should perhaps be in the blog, but I can't be bothered.
