Achieved today
Jul. 27th, 2010 10:26 pmAstrid is now four and a half days old.
We established that nowhere this side of town stocks a replacement toilet seat for our particular toilet. I am not impressed by this.
Rob put the doors on his wardrobe.
We moved the bedroom furniture around so it's as it was planned to be (this meant tidying first).
An awful lot of laundry happened.
I ordered a new mattress because the edges of this one are sagging and so it doesn't work with a baby in the middle. Should arrive Tuesday. Rob and I will both have happier hips.
Booked train tickets to go to the DWCon at the end of August. We were automatically booked into a Quiet Carriage. Is it just me, or is it lunacy to assign people booking child tickets using a Friends And Family Railcard seats in the Quiet Carriage? We'll try to change that when the tickets arrive but really.
We cleared a little of the downstairs space and the girls' bedroom, to maximise play opportunities.
Emer and Astrid did some incredibly heartwarming Sisterly Bonding (book-sisterly, not real-life sisterly, what's more).
My milk reduction techniques appear to be working ok.
Mum got me new pyjamas. I got myself some when Linnea was born, too. New ones are not, now, a wild extravagance.
I sorted a small box of books to give to someone who wanted them, and she took them away.
I had a bath. It's weird to be able to lie on my back and breathe.
Rob cooked a fabulous toad in the hole and disclosed after the initial waves of praise that he has adapted the recipe based on his childhood memories and some internet research, which is why it has a crispier crust now.
Linnea has discovered that babies are actually quite boring, except when they are utterly fascinating and irresistible.
