Where did the time go?
Aug. 11th, 2009 10:32 pmWell, I woke up a little before Rob left for work, and sat in bed until Linnea got up. We wrapped Emer's birthday presents (three more days!) and started breakfast. Emer woke up and we all got dressed and ate; I did a few loads of laundry and the children did some CBeebies on the computer together. Then we ate a snack and headed out to the shops.
On the way we met Maria and co, and so we all went to the shops together, which was great fun but took AGES. The Co-op seemed to be selling everything with a Best Before of this week at a reduced price. We had lunch together too, and then stayed for supper/dinner, and eventually Rob, Emer and I left, and Linnea stayed for her - da dada daaa - sleepover. She has been trying to have a sleepover for ages, almost anywhere. None of her friends can stay here - we had one make it to almost bedtime once before the venue was changed to his house instead - but sleepovers are her most favourite kind of visiting in the whole world. She had her first one about two years ago, I think, and would be an addict if we'd let her.
She loves the different ways things are done in other people's families and the different things they eat and the different words they call meals and everything. And midnight feasts loom large, too.
Anyway, she even let me kiss her goodbye, since it was such a special occasion, and we took Emer to the True Food Co-op and got enough groceries to see us through. And on the way home we stopped off at an allotment-having neighbour's to invite her to dinner in gratitude for the free veg she gave us. If she can work out when she's free, she'll come.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to see the neighbours who are literally around one corner from us, but there is often no answer there when we knock. And we might also get to the community garden. We haven't been much since we got ill.
I need to make some Very Hungry Caterpillars out of crepe paper.
