Our library is re-opening!

Battle Library is opening again, on Thursday! We have missed it SO MUCH. It has had a facelift and repair job and extension and things, and I CAN'T WAIT.

I will find our library cards and go go go. Waiting outside from Wednesday evening would be overkill, wouldn't it? Sadly.

Passport photos

I've been trying to get http://www.epassportphoto.com/ to give me passport photos to meet Irish standards. It's not going to work, because our printer simply isn't good enough, but what's really driving me crazy is that I can't get it to print the right size photos.

Has anyone here made it work for Irish passport pics?

Making time for thesecond child

I heard a lot, when I was expecting Emer, about being sure to make time for the first child and not give all my attention to the new one.

So I was surprised, today, to find myself sitting in the garden with Emer. We sat on the bench under the tree, and I leaned back and read my book (Sprig Muslin, Georgette Heyer) and she rested her head on my tummy and ate her apple. It lasted about a quarter of an hour.

I had hundreds of times like that with Linnea. For Emer, they are very rare, and I didn't realise what we were missing.
