Recycling

We are gathering glass and tetra packs to take to the recycling bank. We have still not found a way to recycle the plastics the council do not handle. Most manufacturers are not amenable to having their plastic returned to sender. Gah.

Lawn-mowing

We did it. I did it until I couldn't do any more, then Rob finished it. We trimmed the edges with a scissors; that's how small our lawn is. The garden looks better now.

Baking

Remember, kids, set a timer for the cupcakes.

Drinks

I am occasionally drinking alcohol in the evening. I'm not sure whether this is dissipation or a sign of being so sane I can afford to risk mind-altering chemicals. English definitely needs the tense "I do be doing."

Um.

We cheated by starting very very late. But. I brought her up to bed and fed her until she was happy, in the dark; she asked for a teddy and I left to find one; Rob brought the teddy back to her and put her back to bed about ten times in six minutes, while she got angrier and angrier. When she went from "angry" to "hysterical and hoarse" I went up and swapped places; I fed her to sleep in less than ten minutes.

So from decided she was having a bedtime to her being settled took, apparently, less than 20 minutes. For our next trick, we'll do it much, much earlier in the evening.

The good news is that it didn't disturb Linnea in the slightest.
