More on not being online
Aug. 6th, 2007 09:24 pmI think I don't want to spend precious not-depressed time posting when I could be interacting positively with my family, baking cookies, and turning what was an innocent playhouse into a small garden chalet with hot and cold running built-in wardrobes, or summat.
I am enjoying my new laminator, reading less than usual, decluttering the house, getting better at not living in squalor, at least during the week - at weekends all bets are off. Emer is still on the brink of walking; it's fascinating, because she's progressing much more slowly than Linnea did, so we've never really observed the learning process before. Today she did this thing where she took a series of single steps, touching a solid, supportive surface in between each one. Also, she said "ba-ba" to Rob when he said "bye-bye" to her this morning.
She actively cuddles us. Linnea was never terribly cuddly, really.
Emer adores "bop bop bop boopsie" and hauls me in for the final nose-crunching boop by my long-suffering ears.
Linnea continues to be fascinated by numbers and really, really enjoys any number games I invent for her. She's significantly less keen on games I shell out money for, though I haven't sat down and played with her indoors while we were genuinely uninterrupted - between Emer, phonecalls, doorbells, and our various bladders, we haven't had much luck yet.
We haven't eaten a meal indoors since Thursday.
When I recharge the camera battery I'll post photos of this house. Seriously, it's incredible. You want to live in it. Really.
