We left the house at 07:40. We arrived at the final train station after lunchtime and were met by YoungBloke, YoungBloke's Mummy, YoungBloke's Daddy, and No Rain. (It was misty, but Linnea was adamant that that doesn't count).

Linnea and YoungBloke settled into a pleasant enough series of games and malicious assaults, as toddlers do, and apart from one declaration from YoungBloke that he Doesn't Like Newa, it was fine. Linnea handed over the birthday gift and then wanted to draw in it, but it was all sorted out with plain paper. They were both too excited to eat dinner, and to go to bed. They had a bath together, which seemed to be fine, though they both wanted to put water outside the bath - Linnea with a pouring cup (how efficient!) and YoungBloke with splashes (very difficult to physically prevent).

The next morning we were all up at 6 am, with the telly on and much caffeine ingestion. Eventually we were all able to get washed and dressed and to wash and dress the baby and toddlers, and I packed all our stuff up, and we went to the station at about 11:40. Linnea and I arrived at the final station at about 17:15.

The train journeys... the outbound oen was fine. The return trip was less delightful, mainly because Linnea and I were knackered. After 16:30 people started to be pleasant and helpful, but by then I was already officially dead so I'm not sure how much it helped.

She was ecstatic to get off the train and be Nearly Home.

...thy fearful work is done;
My throat surrenders every germ, the cold you sought is one.
The lungs are near, the swell I feel, the glands are all exulting
While follow eyes that stream with tears, the lurgy grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the searing pains that sped,
Where in my throat the tonsil lies
Swollen, ill, and red.
