Linnea (to herself, at first): "Oh, where Meemee? [louder] Meemee, where a you? Meemee, where you?"
Me: "In the library."
Linnea (to herself): "Oh, o[th]er woom."
In other news, there's a sort of Shoe Watershed at size 7. Suddenly, there are a range of feminine options available in the wider fittings - colours other than pink, for example, and different styles of shoe. We exchanged yesterday's pair of navy blue shoes with pink flowers on for navy blue t-strap Mary Jane type shoes with blue flowers on. In the shop they didn't chafe her ankles, and they had plenty of space for her toes. It remains to be seen if they are ok around the instep, but our beloved fitter thinks the strap will work better than the ones we tried yesterday.
The weird thing is, she's now a fairly normal size - a 7F, apparently, in this style. In girls' shoes. Perhaps she will never again have to have a boy's H fitting because the girl's H fitting is too narrow.
