My Parenting License is Being Revoked
Jun. 23rd, 2005 10:20 pmToday Linnea got out of the Biscuit Tin Cafe and as far as the kerb before I caught her. I had turned my head to fix up the buggy so she could get into it and we could leave, and I heard someone yell - and I ran.
I got her, and sat down with her on my lap, and didn't cry, and a bunch of little old ladies came over and offered to buy me a drink and patted my knee.
One of the automatic doors was open, so she only needed to trigger one door to get out. We usually catch her in the lobby, for that very reason. But I'll never, ever rely on that again. She never gets out of my sight there again. The automatic doors are too dangerous.
Rob has bought her a swimming sun-hat - with a flap at the back like a dustman's 'at. SPF40. We like clothing with SPF40.
