20 days to go
Apr. 1st, 2004 05:30 pmI feel a lot better now. I'm tired, but not tired of being pregnant any more. I like the baby again, which has to be a good thing :) The midwife came yesterday and will not be surprised if I give birth more or less any day now, but everything is still fine, and she's coming again on Wednesday. I love my midwife, and I fully intend to send her flowers or something when this is all over. She should have a special award for being friendly and helpful and informative and reassuring and competent and reliable and al kinds of stuff.
My sister is arriving tonight, for a week. I spoke to her last night and she seems to be looking forward to it, in spite of expecting to spend over 6 hours on a bus, 4 hours in an airport, an hour on a plane, and 90 minutes on a train. I've been doing housework in bite-sized chunks so that it's not actually squalid when she gets here, and intermittently making a little list of things I want her to help me do when she has recovered from the trauma of her journey.
The constant Braxton-Hicks contractions have abated, but I now have a backache instead. I'm glad my hospital bags are all downstairs now. And a list of Rob's phone numbers is up on the wall alongside the list of hospital and midwife numbers. Yay.
Teachers complaining about children who correct their spelling should not say that children should be more discrete in their corrections. But, you will be glad to know, I resisted following up to point out the error :)
