ailbhe: (baby)

She came, bringing a student with her. She was a little late, but nothing to worry about. This is week 26-27 or so, she measured me at 21 centimetres (which is apparently a little small, but then, so am I), and my blood pressure is a tiny bit higher than she's entirely happy with.

Because of the blood pressure and the fact that I'm retaining water (my handses swoll up while we were in the Netherlands and haven't shrunk back down again), I am to see her again on 29 January, after I get back from Sweden. There's no reason *not* to go to Sweden, and she wished me a pleasant trip. She also said that I would normally have been seen at least once more often than I have been, probably twice, which is what I figured myself.

She likes cats, and her accompanying student doesn't. So the Dust-cat went straight up to the student and nuzzled and snuzzled and loved and cuddled... I picked her up and away, because the student was obviously decidedly uncomfortable.

The baby's heart is still beating, it's still spending most of its time head-down, it moves very vigorously, and the student midwife's baby-in-utero also responded to rhythms in music the way mine does so I feel like less of a freak.

My friend Simon ripped Simple Minds' Alive and Kicking for me and I will as a consequence love him forever. It's just what the baby needs. The baby is boogying in my belly to the tune. Wahey!
