Weddings again

A friend of mine is getting married in a week. Woohoo! I can't go, due to time and health and travel constraints, boo hoo.

This friend is having a nice, semi-casual-but-well-organised kind of wedding, with much consideration for things like dietary requirements of the guests and that everyone have a nice time and things. I bet it's great. I bet it's as good as my wedding, and I can't imagine better than that.

I'm just waiting for an appropriate time to post my present, which is perishable and currently in my fridge. I'm a little leery of posting it in this heat, but I soon won't have a choice. I hope it's cooler tomorrow.

Recycling

Finally, recycling is coming to my life.

I mean, the refuse collection service will shortly include a recycling collection service, which means that I can stop feeling horrendously guilty every time I throw paper or cardboard in the landfill waste. I will still have to traipse to the recycling by the swimming pool for all the things that I already recycle, but the collection will take paper and cardboard and plastic, which is great. I bet our landfill waste reduces dramatically.

The only slight issue is that I know not where to store the recycling box while I'm waiting for the fortnightly collection. There's no space in our kitchen (it's a galley kitchen, and if anything obstructs the passageway, it's blocked) and the space under the stairs is full of junk, and there's definitely no space in the hall (though we put a bookcase and a shoe-storage thing there anyway).

Perhaps I can get it some kind of waterproof cover and leave it outside the front door with the ordinary wheelie bin.
