I haven't done one of these for a while. What I have done today:

  1. Washed up half what's there.
  2. Sorted dry laundry into "mine" and "muppet's".
  3. Put away some of my laundry.
  4. Written some more of my assignment. I need to double my word count.
  5. Added two recipes to The Lspace Recipes Archive which has been sorely neglected.
  6. Read about half of Michelle Magorian's A Little Love Song, which I quite like, though it is reminding me strongly of Dodie Smith's I Capture The Castle - no doubt I'll get over it. It is a rollicking good read, though it doesn't have the magic of ICTC.
  7. Sorted out a load of dirty laundry

What I have yet to do:

  1. Finish my assignment and convert it into a Word document so that my tutor can read it. Plain text confuses him - he doesn't like the line breaks.
  2. Clear the kitchen (including washing up)
  3. Clear the dining room (put away the various camping accoutrements which have been piled up since Sunday evening)
  4. Put on that load of laundry
  5. Chase people up about buying the plane tickets for our trip to Ireland
  6. Make a fresh batch of scones
  7. Think up something for dinner this evening

I need a recipe for 5 blackening bananas which can't cope with the heat much longer. I really don't want to make banana bread, or an alcoholic drink. Desserts are good.

*sits back and waits*

Place in whizzy thing. Refrigerate. Place in whizzy thing again with milk and ice-cream. Drink.

I still have about 4 pre-whizzed bananas left, mind you. Mm. Milkshakes tomorrow as well.

In other news, I have cleared a lot of the kitchen and dining room but have yet to double my word count. I may resort to padding. I printed it out so that I cna edit it the old-fashioned way, in case that helps me think less concisely. Gah.

I'm currently doing a little of this. I've reached the stage of having 1081 words, of which 123 are the title, the bibliography, and a quote that I daren't count for fear it's just padding. I am about to embark on stage 5: blatantly editing in verbosity. I'm talking about God, so for starters I've replaced every incidence of "omnipotent" with "both omnipotent and omniscient". That gained me 9 words. Hmm.

I'll get there, I have no doubt. I added about 200 words in ten minutes when I printed it out and went into the garden to have a cigarette and an iced drink.

I wonder if I can add a paragraph about how the problem only arises if you believe in God, and you shouldn't do that because - something. Hm.

Doubt it. It's beyond the scope of the essay, disproving the deity.

Oh, in case you're wondering why I have so much time to do housework and write journal entries, the deadline is tomorrow.

So, how'd I do so far?

  1. Finish my assignment and convert it into a Word document so that my tutor can read it. Plain text confuses him - he doesn't like the line breaks. - To make a hollow laughing
  2. Clear the kitchen (including washing up) - I actually got quite a lot of this done.
  3. Clear the dining room (put away the various camping accoutrements which have been piled up since Sunday evening) - The camping gear is mostly cleared away, and the dining table is clear enough for two or three people to eat at,and the floor and sofa are mostly clear.
  4. Put on that load of laundry - Done. And I hung most of it on the line, too.
  5. Chase people up about buying the plane tickets for our trip to Ireland - This can't happen until this evening. That is, I sent a chaser out, and the decision can't be made until this evening.
  6. Make a fresh batch of scones - I haven't been allowing myself to because I have this essay to write. Maybe I will anyway.
  7. Think up something for dinner this evening - Hah. I wish. It's too hot to think of dinner. Perhaps we can have tea instead. Tea and scones in the garden on our new garden furniture. I'd have to make more potato salad.
