Big stinky fight

Rob and I had a huge nasty fight in the middle of the night, which boils down to "we're both tired and stressed and shouldn't try to discuss anything in this mood". It left me drained for the tidying up, vet trip and so on that was supposed to happen today. We had more or less sorted it before we went to sleep, but it was still - ugh. We dn't fight much, and every time we have it has been because we're tired.

The man is a star, or an angel, or something. He has tidied the two rooms downstairs for his parents' visit, and brought the cat to the vet for his booster shots. He also made me tea while I languished in bed - I slept really badly, post-fight, and was completely exhausted anyway.

His parents will come soon.

In-laws

His parents came and left. It was quite pleasant, although I was a tired zombie creature. They gave us gifts - they often do. This time it was birthday gifts; 6 cups and saucers to match the new tableware we bought from IKEA (woo!), a jumbo box of Maltesers, and a voucher, good in any shop in the UK, for the special gift of my choice (er, money).

It was also the occasion of the presentation of Inger's new computer, sekritly bought for her by Alan and Rob. She thought she was getting an upgrade from parts - the whole new box came as a surprise. I think she liked it :) which is good; we've been keeping it secret for ages.

Rob cooked shepherd's pie, with tomatoes again (he always does!) and we drank tea from the new cups (woo!).
