Viral load

I was so tired yesterday I napped with Astrid for two hours in the middle of the day, in daylight, with the curtains open in my room. You may need to know me to know how odd that is.

I'm similarly tired today. I went to the doctor to get my headshrinkery checked up on and also told him my physical systems; he says I'm probably just "carrying a viral load" which struck so many chords it was practically a concert.

Rob has fitted a stairgate to the foot of the stairs. Astrid is crawling and climbing up things goodo.

I've managed a glass of orange juice, one cup of tea and half a bowl of cold porridge today; I need to eat and drink more. Any minute now.

Christmas presents for the girls arrived today. Linnea has a wristwatch and Emer has a battery-powered hamster with no off switch which responds to loud noises or physical contact. It gave a little snore and a murmur and went to sleep, so I put it in a box in the bottom of Astrid's wardrobe.

Being a scifi minded person, I initially read that as "stargate" and thought what a brilliant engineer Rob must be :-)
