Achieved today
Jan. 18th, 2011 11:51 pmCleared bathroom, dining room, master bedroom, children's room, so they could be cleaned by the cleaner.
Cleared kitchen ditto.
Found all the outstanding library books and sorted them into "renew" and "return."
Got everyone dressed and out to lunch and storytime at the library; met a friend.
Ordered a special letterbox online for the cleaner, who hasn't been able to find what she wants ANYWHERE.
Checked online finances and sorted them out incl. talking to Rob about them.
Read several stories to the children.
When I was too phone-phobic to call Rob, got Emer to do it for me.
Had a lovely chat with Emer about the oceans on the moon and the face and the man in the moon and seeing the moon in the daytime and light reflecting and things.
Did not shove Linnea into a dank, rat-infested cellar, even when she paddled in mud puddles and put her hands in them and deliberately splashed my face with mud. I don't think she likes having a mentally ill mother much.
Took my pills. Sought help. Availed of it when it arrived.

Date: 2011-01-19 10:03 am (UTC)My kids are the same as Linnea with the boundary-pushing when my mental health is stretched. One of my biggest triggers is getting their mess and bodily fluids on me when I'm already stressed, and Sam will pick up on it, come and wipe his nose on me, or mash his food into me, or, absent any other tools, just lick me. I'm sure it's because he needs to check that I still love him even when he's bad, but honestly one day if anything makes me snap, that will be it. So, empathy. Try not to hit her, and that will be quite enough achievement for one day. And Linnea might not like having a mentally ill mother (who does? I didn't.) but you're a lot else besides.
